EOS transactions are censorable, any crypto that can be censored is completely missing the point...

How are the EOS Transactions censorable?
I know provabley stolen EOS can be returned to their rightful owners. Is this what your seeing as censored Transaction?
I’m so confused lol
replied 2182d
I'm guessing: what if the 21 BPs collude and don't include your transaction?

This could be the same with Bitcoin miners as well
replied 2182d
Its harder because in theory they don't have to know each other.

But in the real world they do ..
replied 2181d
Or, in the real world, they choose not to make themselves known.

We don't know who is in the Other category

I see 😊

The BPs are voted in by the EOS holders. So if the BPs are not behaving appropriately then the EOS community simply votes them out and a new BP is voted in.
replied 2182d
Another question from me: Is the voting power proportional to coin held?
Metalbrushes_Tattoo
replied 2181d
Yes. 1 coin = 1 vote
There is a couple “sister chains” Telos and Worbli that are developing a slightly different voting model that are expected to prevent whale manipulation.
Metalbrushes_Tattoo
replied 2181d
EOS holders will receive a 1:1 ratio of Telos and Worbli also. Same as btc/BCH split. May the best chain win ;)
replied 2182d
Ok maybe, I was just answering your question.

If it can be returned, then it can be censored too

What would be the point of censoring a transaction though? Also if you held EOS and they were stolen but you were able to get them back through EOS911 wouldn’t you be grateful?
En Fri Mand
replied 2182d
I definately would but I wouldn't be grateful if the government ordered my money to be confiscated
replied 2182d
This is my point:there are 21 BPs, if anyone influenced them they could censor any transaction they wanted to...it dosent matter why, the point that it can be done is enough for me
replied 2182d
and to be clear, I dont hate anyone for the cryptos they hold.If you disagree I respect your right to hold what you like, free market,I just have an aversion to it personally

Of course. As it should be. A friendly debate is healthy way to educate oneself on other views possibly previously overlooked. That’s how growth occurs 👌🏻😎

The fact that there are 21 BPs with hundreds waiting/ready to be voted in in their place at a moment notice; voted in by the holders, prevent mass manipulation and censorship
Metalbrushes_Tattoo
replied 2182d
Same can be said about Bitcoin. If enough miners can be influenced then they too could censor any transactions they wanted to. Same for anything else. Mass manipulation requires mass.
replied 2182d
On top of that, two prominent folks, TheDollarVigilante and Max Keiser are wying to become BP with EOS. How blind are these people. Fighting something and becoming same in the process.
replied 2182d
I didn't know they were trying to become block producers...I never watch either of them, the EOS governance structure doesn't exactly fill me with confidence...
