TRBC has created a map on http://bitcoinmap.world we should work together instead of doing the same work redundantly. Our map needs a website for inputs so we can link to yours.

Heck, why don't you just check it out (def not in a finished state, but its safe to sign up and add some merchants if you want to compare): http://YellowPages.cash

Yeah, but that site is just a map. I want a directory, w/ ratings, desc., etc - all that I can search. Implementing a map like that is cake w/ right tools. Def not "redundant work".

Did you try the Android App to the map? It has a list and favorites and comments upcoming... http://therealbitcoin.club/moveyourbch who is using a browser map on his mobile?

Oh, nice. I slightly misread your first comment. I’d love to collaborate. But yeah, I don’t really do mobile. Just sort of threw this sucker together for fun.

I am dreaming of a website where I can paste a link to a Google Maps entry. Then the tool crawls the data and images to save them on a self hosted server. Could you build that?

I believe I could, with some time. Google's Places API probably makes it fairly easy to get a name, description, etc. of the business, as long as it's in their database.

I think the hardest part is getting the images, cropping them and to generate a slideshow (gif and webp). I do that manually at the moment. Any idea how to achieve that?
