🎂 The UK Embassy in Tokyo has launched a public fundraiser for King Charles III's birthday celebrations, which will be held in the Japanese capital on June 20 and in the city of Osaka on June 11. It is asking for "cash and in-kind sponsorship."

Each UK monarch has doubled up on their birthday celebrations since the 18th century as part of a longstanding tradition, with one of the festivities marking an official birthday as a public celebration and their true birth date with a private event.
