Asset Forfeiture is a truly turd-like policy since the Police that confiscates the Money is able to keep it and use it in their budget, which is the most perverse legal incentive.

Asset Forfeiture in the US has shown that the burden of the proof is weaker than preponderance of the evidence. If the police even thinks there is a chance they can confiscate it legal
