Which desktop environment do you prefer and why?
Gnome
Now I use GNOME, but started with KDE (lovely but heavy) and I also like XFCE.
Gnome is really great. Easy for beginners and very good if you have a 4K screen - you won't have to adjust scaling everytime you plug in a monitor with another resolution.
gnome does it all automatically.
