Let's make predictions on what will happen once BTC will have to hardfork.
My prediction is that Core will never hardfork. Even if it really "wanted" to, a new coins envisioning "Blockstream's Vision" will pop out of
nowhere and will force the old chain rules on the market by throwing hundreds of millions to pump it (perhaps with the money of another billionaire who will launder for the state his
tax money debt in a deal) thus threatening the new fork will be an altcoin.
In the meantime most likely the BTC client by them will integrate the LN,
Liquid, and on-chain, and most ppl will use it anyway since itll be the standard and have the network effect and since average ppl dont care about convenience, and won't mind fiat 2.0.
Bch with 1TB blocks is fiat 2.0 too
