Context need to grab as much as they can as quickly as possible, SMS is a dead man walking.
SMS is the most expensive data service on the planet. I know literally 0 people who use SMS instead of messaging apps
The most expensive data service to send the cheapest currency... doesn't add up,
and like you say messaging apps are taking over.
Better layouts, cross border communication :)
