do you see a trend of increasing freedoms through legal means? Or do gov’s hands seem to have to be forced?

Changing laws for the better is a skill that can be learned. I don't see why freedoms couldn't be increased by changing laws, especially when the money becomes transparent.

not asking if you think it's possible. asking if that's what you see when you look at history.

I don't see anything simple. What do you see?

I see gov’s only power is to tell ppl what to do (reduce freedoms). The US used to (like when it was formed) have the idea of negative rights & everything not forbidden was allowed.

Since then the size of gov has been inc & thus freedoms have been reduced. Seems like the number of regulations/rules/laws has also been increasing, though this is hard to quantify.

Gov size (as a measure of the % GDP) and thus relative influence has been increasing steadily.

Fair enough, I dont either. I had a similar discussion here with either Sam or DarkSpace. But we just ended it with freedoms only increase through wars / est new govs. :(

So I’m still looking for what others see/know.
