/r/btc has many ABC fans but also very heavy pro ABC vote manipulation
replied 2227d
If the community in there is pro ABC then what counts as manipulation? The downvoting for SV is similar to downvoting for Core on that sub.
replied 2227d
how do you differentiate between genuine pro ABC voting and fraudulent pro ABC voting?

Is this not the problem that Bitcoin was designed to solve?
replied 2227d
how do you mean? like you have to pay (even a little) to post?

This website is a huge billboard for what they value. Node count. "Democracy". But nodes can be easily spun up to fake votes. Only work gets you a real vote.

but CSW seems insane

If you don't trust that the economic benifits of mining honestly/not wrecking the coin are greater than burning it to the ground, you never believed in Bitcoin in the first place.

my coins aren't moving & I dont assume I'm smarter than the crowed. so at this point I'm here for drama & popcorn. 🍿

He doesn't seem insane once you understand that this is what has to be done in order to have Bitcoin system adopted and used by everyone. Bitcoin is a great system, why change it?

It is difficult to get out of this prison of thought. In my opinion ED is completely correct.

Insane enough to light his and Calvin's mining farms on fire? Cuz if he "destroys BCH" that's essentially what he'll be doing.
replied 2226d
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ meh we'll see what happens. cant sort through all his ranting & raving to find out what he's saying. lots of talk about how smart he is & how much destruction he'll bring

CSW explained his reasoning. One is free to disagree and bet against him. Money talks.
replied 2227d
Genuinely interested in where I can find these. Source?
replied 2226d
he has some longer form posts on medium? little bit more coherent than his twitter. https://medium.com/@craig_10243
replied 2227d
ahh see what you mean. you're talking hash power. I was talking voting on a forum. yeah... r/bitcoin pulled that shit, counting nodes, shame r/btc is doing the same...

Spinning up dummy nodes is no different than having a bunch of socks "voting" on a forum. Ppl make fun of CSW for ridiculing PoSM but he's 100% correct. "The community" is a myth.
replied 2226d
yeah thats all well and good but doesnt address forum manipulation.

Users/the market vote with their money, thereby deciding miner's profit.

Exactly, that's how astroturfing can indirectly affect the miners. That's why you see these scorched earth Narratives. They're trying to get ppl to sell/buy to influence mining.
