It not so much that people are getting dumber, rather dumber people having more kids. High IQ countries in western europe and asia have lower birthrates than africa and middle east.
I think the issue is that some people still think that measuring the value of a human in IQ points makes any sense at all. IQ is a made up test to categorize people.

If the couples with above median IQ in Africa had more babies than those below the median, then there would be an long term upwards trend over the very long term, time will show.
