I have long been toying with an idea of a powerful filtering system which allows some kind of filtering profiles which can be provided from outside a free platform.
The idea is that the "moderators" who make the filters are no longer "site emperors", users can at any time reject them and use filters from another provider, or go filterless.
Or indeed make changes to the filters to their liking.
