Yeah. But you can always buy through their trading platform GDAX and then transfer to coinbase. Much cheaper that way. Just more steps.
I only use coinbase to buy, them transfer out right away. Since they are under so much pressure to share profits made
I believe they don't charge fees to send to your wallet either, but that only really matters for high fee coins like BTC.
I think GDAX *is* cheaper fee-wise. You can already sign into GDAX with your coinbase acct (same company) but when I did it required me to do do more verification, so I stopped.
