Suggestion: Add a dislike button
Likes are not stored with these Messages on the Blockchain, it's just a number that lives on this webserver. There's not even a view, ordered by Likes. Why get your panties in a bunch?
Likes are stored as any other action. It is a transaction, stored in the BCH blockchain.
