You have wrong mentality mate. You don't need rulers to tell you what you should do, you think people are stupid? Collective intellect is greater then you give it credit for.
If the collective intellect decides that you need to suffer and die for the "greater good", are you just going to hand yourself over to them?
This is the problem with collectivism. It can only work if all members of the collective are completely selfless. Otherwise chaos ensues as individuals think for themselves.
