One could also argue that this is where guns right comes into play as well. The right to bear arms means there is no monopoly on violence.

How much money of yours is needed to be owned by someone else for it to be slavery? 10%? 90%? 100%? 50%?

That said, I prefer a sales tax over an income tax. Income can be hidden, but sales tax is often still paid by those who make money off the black market. I know that helps BC's economy

I'm not, but I do live in a place with a booming black market. That black market did help prop up the economy during the last recession.

I prefer a self enforcing system when possible

I am against self policing. I meant self enforcing, like supply and demand self enforcing a fair price.

I am not convinced that taxation is theft. I think it is necessary for society.

I think that in a representative democracy the people decide that, not each individual. The amount requested is something you can argue about, or even leave to a different place.

Yes, law isn't decided by the individual, but by a representative that had the support of the most individuals in a given area. Restricted by judicial interpretation of a constitution.

I would t live in a place like that, and if I choose to live in such a place I would do so knowingly. That said mobility isn't always easy for the poor.

Why is taxation unconstitutional? The constitution limits the powers of the government, but besides fighting the British, it was collecting taxes was needed to fund the army.

Ah, I would say it isn't perfect, but a constitution is itself essential to freedom. A constitution is a document that limits and describes the powers of a governing body.

yeah, the issue is more gov banning competition for enforcement. eg if citizens could choose from private companies too prices would fall & quality would rise.

While the level of violence allowed depends on the level, there are private security agencies. From those only permitted to perform citizens arrest, to those who can use deadly force.
