The reason why Roger Ver is important is because people are stupid enough to obey to him as authority. He also owns bitcoin.com which is the main marketing tool for sheeps.
I really doubt anyone obeys him. I loved BCH long before even finding out who Roger Ver is. I only know he exists because Core supporters hate him. Otherwise he seems like a smart guy.
