Increasing block size for Bitcoin seems common sense and elegant.
Lightning Network seems convoluted and overcomplicated.
Increasing the block size was the original plan, that Bitcoin Cash implemented.
LN is the elegant solution and increasing the blocksize is the dump/obvious one
I'm not against LN, but it's still alpha software. Also LN whitepaper says it needs 133 MB blocks with 2 channels per year which is very optimistic, so we need to raise it no matter ..
While I do agree, we should keep in mind that "elegance" is a matter of opinion.
