In order from good to bad: ep IV, ep V, ep VI, ep VIII, ep III, ep VII, ep II, ep I, in my opinion. I'm telling star wars movie plot as bedtime story to my children before sleep :P

You're correct to tell Star Wars as a fairy tale. The symbolism is very similar to stories like Pinocchio, the Lion King, The Hobbit. TLJ is a Christmas movie similar to Home Alone.
I don't rank them because each feeds into and enhances the others. I highly recommend watching IV, I, and VII as a set(in that order).
