Alice wants to pay Bob for some excellent weed that Bob grew. Alice wants to pay Bob through Lightning network but can't find a channel with enough liquidity because Bob only sells weed by the ounce for $300 and Alice
only has two open channels of $10 each. So Alice opens a channel to Bob and pays him $300btc for an ounce of weed.
Other than this new channel with Alice, Bob also only has two
channels open each of $10.
As it stands now, Bob can only spend up to $40 $20 of the $300 he was paid.
The other $260 is basically trapped.
