Not parroting anything. In order for someone to realize they have been brainwashed they have to “wake up” to the fact that they are brainwashed. That’s difficult thing to do.
Like someone who has believed and had faith in something their entire life&it defines them in some way. To realize it was all lies is a difficult pill to swallow. Denial creeps in
