It is easily proven that the extra CO2 comes from us actually. Specifically by the imbalance it created in the isotope of carbon in the atmosphere.
replied 2240d
And where is the proof that CO2 causes the climate change?
replied 2239d
Adding extra energy to the system causes changes. Increased percipitation, warmer avergaw temperatures. Changing pH balance in the oceans.
replied 2239d
You have to provide proof for the claim that humans significantly alter the energy levels of the system. These things you mention have happened before without human interference.
replied 2239d
Yes, and every time they happened before it was a mass extinction event. We have proved these things are caused by us. Through sataelite observations and isotope measurements.

For reference please check this graph that CSW has recently linked in his twitter feed:

Wow, thanks for this. He really is making sure he loses all reputabilbity. Hope to seem him fork off in November. The guy really is a fool.

Proving that humans do have a significant impact on climate change is not possible yet because we have way too little data. The warming right now could as well not be caused by humans.
replied 2239d
We can actually measure our contribution to climate change directly. So it is not only possible, but measurable.
replied 2238d
You measure things that according to a THEORY change the climate. That theory is not proven, since it can't be proven yet, due to lacking data.

You can actually measure the energy imbalance directly...
replied 2239d
What kind of evidence are you looking for? They have verified it in many ways, and with many observations. Satellites measure the albedo imbalance directly.
replied 2239d
Climate change in earths history is a well described phenomenon. It is not possible however to verify significant human influence on climate change due to the lack of long term data.
replied 2239d
Wrong. We can easily measure the proportion of what was contributed by humans, and which by nature. Natural causes like volcanoes are a drop un the bucket compared to our contribution.
replied 2239d
And yet you assume that this in some way affects climate change, based on what information?
replied 2239d
Based on observation of the albedo imbalance following the increase in greenhouse gases. It is directly observed and measured.
