A new study has concluded that hard forks are a threat to the adoption of cryptocurrencies. This is because splits tend to lead to the erosion of trust. [url too long]

But HF are the best way to upgrade. Sadly, people misunderstand for chain split.

An argument I feel is missing in this discussion is a user with a working sales-solution who has to install new SW because of a HF. This can be expensive and a security risk.

Anyway, I believe there's no real need to HF every 6 months.

Yes, that's a legit concern. Any POS SW has to auto-upgrade as needed, the only issue I see comes if a merchant uses an abandoned SW and gets deprecated with a new HF.

Much easier, and better to do this fast HF upgrade cycles now, while the chain is still in fast development, and usage is low.

That was an incredibly unconvincing "study". Why don't you stick with BTC since they will never HF again :) Every HF that adds needed capability to grow is good.
replied 2286d
You don't need HF for that. Sane team doing the research and development is needed. BTC lost this long time ago. Now it's #BCH turn. Learn from mistakes, NOOOO! Cant do that!
