Agreed that he is highly intelligent. But his rudeness, arrogance and temperament really hurts the perception of him. Also, it seems that he easily lets himself be insulted.
I have the same pet peeve as him and it has cost me some reputation in the past. I get real pissed when somebody implies that I don't know what I'm talking about.
