Aumary was and is able to do it right now. What else is the point of the checkpoint?
The point of the rolling checkpoints is to prevent a deep reorg. So even if Amaury were able, why would he want to do that?

Coming back to the original post, rolling checkpoints negate 10 blocks worth of proof of work.
BCH is not proof of work. It is proof that work doesn't matter so much (in BCH).
Bitcoin Cash hashrate is currently ~ 3x that of Bitcoin SV.
Surely BSV users must be more worried about re-organizations of their chain - unless no-one cares enough about that coin.
Aparently, Amaury ABC is more worried, so he keeps checkpoints. And exchanges wait for over 10 confirmation on BCH, just to not be scammed cheaply.
