What new features would people like to see most?
collapse messages & all replies (like on reddit) would make it easier to follow long conversations. & allowing/displaying longer messages by linking txns.

Longer posts on BCH. Can implement either by grouping self-replies (replies to own comments considered extension) or new Action "Extend Memo". Show # of memos & cost notice while type)
Should also allow for a sub-protocol of compression. I have some ideas on this if you are interested.
Allow linked pics thumbnails to post larger than so tiny now, preferably the entire width if possible or whatever looks best
Mute Block of users and or Topics (not sure if this should be on-chain or just user-setting).

All the data is public so anyone could see the text in any block explorer. Unless you mean encrypting text on chain which seems like overly complicated and not very useful.

I believe pop-ups got popular because websites got heavy and slow, and they were a way to avoid reloading pages. Memo's minimalistic interface should be fast enough to allow reloads.
When scrolling large pages, it is nice to be able to view a single thread and not loose your place on the parent page.

When you navigate back, the browser restores the scroll position on the page you left, so this would also be the UX with full page reloads.
Restoring the scroll position doesn’t always work when JavaScript is used to render a page. I am not a fan of single page apps because they often break these subtle features.
Scroll position is maintained (and need not be restored) if the thread opens in a modal.
Would be cool if we could mark our account for cash shuffle with fee limits or round limits.
Although I guess the security implications of that are probably beyond reasonable. A user would have to be logged in manually approve such transactions it seems. Probably not feasible.
Also, all your UTXOs on Memo are owned by the same private key. Future privacy features would likely require separate addresses though.
