devil's advocate: If I pay $1M for a message to be sent out through a platform is that fake/manipulation? It cost real money that could be spend elsewhere.

If a platform wants to curate trending topics that’s fine but it shouldn’t then pretend like those topics represent trending free & open dialogue.
Ignoring what is actually trending is hurting SV companies (eg YT rewind was most disliked video ever, Netflix ignoring their algorithms).
