🦠 The European Commission is following the situation around the bird flu found in cattle in the US, and the bloc's watchdog considers the health risks to the general public to be low, European Commission spokesman Stefan de Keersmaecker says.

The US has been facing an outbreak of bird flu among dairy cattle since March, and last week the US Food and Drug Administration said that one in five commercial milk samples tested in a nationwide survey contained fragments of the virus.
