Was Pentium4 and the FX8350 really that bad? Why Cyrix bankrupted? https://honest.cash/v2/Geri/collective-computer-psychosis-6438

I still have those processors.

I think I still have a bunch of them. Was going to use them as tile inlays if I ever tiled anything.

I have about 20 Socket7 CPU-s in a box, and having a fully assembled Cyrix 6x86MX for various purposes.

I had 2 P4 extreme systems running up until last year. I built them in 2001. Both died within a month of each other. Think I got my money's worth out of them.

Probably just a shorted cap on the mobo. If you have the equipment, its an easy fix.

It was the processor. Tried 3 other motherboards didn't work in any of them. Amazing part was I found the same MB I was using new for a few bucks.

I'm still running with the FX-8350 but it's about at the end of its rope. Going to upgrade to a Ryzen in a year or so.

I'm still have an Athlon2 X4 from 2009. Its fine for programming and watching multimedia / browsing the web. My laptop has a passive cooled PentiumN3710. I dont plan to update ever.

At least, until the computer breaks eventually right?

Actually yeah, a few months ago my am3 mobo died. Capacitor deadshorted: i was able to replace it, but the board refuses to power up after it.
