I just ran the numbers, and the poll collected 180K sat in bets, but will have to pay out 179,200 sat. After fees though, and our friend solitude loses money. :-(
I am doing it for fun, for BCH adoption and to promote on-chain betting.

How can you do "betting" when you need an oracle?
Trust less bets in BCH are based on random numbers inside the system. Betting on real world result require oracles or a trust party.
It could work for horse betting too. As long as both sides agree on the 3rd party it's an exception it's workable.
