Socialism may "work" as an economic system but not well. It is inefficient. Profits and losses in a capitalist economy creates efficiency.
The imposition of limited liability through the legalization of corporations, trusts & foundations has effectively converted modern capitalism into a socialist system.
Are you saying that corporations centrally plan everything in the economy? And monopolies are evidence of this? I would say monopolies are perpetuated through govt. legislation.

not sure the socialism connection, but limited liability allows companies to take bigger risks while socializing the losses.
