Sure it helps, but not worth breaking the order of events imo (but we'll see how it improves scaling)
ABC is centralized too, look at all the controversial changes they can implement

Why does CTOR break the order of events? Causality can be deduced from a sorted block. Ordering info beyond that is not guaranteed in pre-CTOR blocks either. Or am I missing something?

Memo for instance. My answer may came after yours in next block (even if here there is explicit causality because I'm "quoting" you)
Makes me a bit sad because I like the fact you ..

In other words, I would say that a "First seen" centralized database for transactions (in a block explorer for example) is as trustworthy as the ordering in TTOR.

Even without CTOR, nobody should depend on the order of transactions within a block for anything serious though. Miners can already alter to order as long as the keep TTOR ordering.

Why ? I don't want to trust anyone else than the miners to get the ""exact"" order of events and don't want to set up a full node just to log everything, the blockchain should do that
replied 2037d
.. keep track of ordering in their own database since they are the ones emitting these txs. I guess if there were also another memo instance, my messages there could be mixed up.

I think indeed memo is constantly scanning the chain so the order should be good even with CTOR
Yeah you need to rely on something else. It's not a big issue but still
replied 2037d
.. which tx was seen first. BTW I sent a bunch of messages, how does memo sort these messages now that with CTOR they can be in a different order? I guess they do what I say and ..
replied 2037d
.. what can be inferred by causality and the block in which a tx shows up, then you can get that info either from TTOR blocks or from CTOR blocks and some external service recording ..
replied 2037d
.. as they don't break causality. So all you get for sure, is causality, which can be inferred from the block anyhow even with CTOR. So if you need more ordering info other than ..
replied 2037d
I see that you put the "exact" in quotes so I think you understand what I mean. Miners, even without CTOR, can alter the sequence of events in the block as much as they want as long ..

That's not dependent transaction. Posts and answers may come in any order. CTOR doesn't change that.

.. can query the blockchain and get all the information you need. But it doesnt involve real paiement yep

It's controversial only for those who hate Bitcoin as cash.
