It I k the fact that we didnt make our own constitution until 1982 was a big part. That was when provincial and federal jurisdiction was set. The courts seem pretty neutral.

could be part of it (wow so late 😄!) states move so slowly that the iteration times are hundreds of years. forming const. later you can pick the parts that work.

We had a constitution before then, but it was written by the British, and held in Britain. I think we have a pretty solid constitution. It was useful seeing what didnt work in others.
