Well...I really think you should quit smoking.

I’m proud to say I quit smoking cigarettes and weed. Non smoker for 2.5 years after 20 year smoker & no weed for 8 months now after 10 years all day everyday chronic. Feeling great!

Did not mean to roll your clock back...glad to hear the feels are great sans smoke :) Gratz!

What do you think I smoke?

Elated and horrified. I wonder if intentional systematic permanency will change how people respond and reply to others.
Metalbrushes_Tattoo

Doubtful. I’m not sure people censor themselves well when they know they are hiding behind screen names. Seems to have the opposite effect actually.

I'm not talking about people censoring themselves. I'm talking about systematic permanency incurring a new degree of awareness and empathy.
You can delete a fb post. Not a memo post.

Hmmmm
I’m not sure how the permanency creates the awareness or empathy though. If anything I think the mask everyone has to hide behind removes the awareness and empathy.

You're referring to the current internet. Do you think it is representative of life on the blockchain?
Metalbrushes_Tattoo
replied 2223d
Memo is “life on the Blockchain” isn’t it? Same with Steemit. Both have permanency. The users all still have “username masks” to hide behind. That removes empathy/awareness.

The internet has been around a lot longer than blockchain.
The issue you're talking about relates to the internet in general.
We're very familiar with the problem. Blockchain is new.
Metalbrushes_Tattoo
replied 2223d
You don’t think that same thing will carry over onto the Blockchain?
anarchovegan
replied 2223d
Of course it will, and does. You don't think that this technology will have any effect on such behavior, nor that it will incentivize different, unforeseen behaviors?
Metalbrushes_Tattoo
replied 2223d
As long as people are able to hide behind anonymity and usernames then no, I don’t think Blockchain will have an effect on people’s behaviour.
anarchovegan
replied 2223d
Why?
Metalbrushes_Tattoo
replied 2222d
When people are able to be anonymous they are more likely to say things and act in ways that are unlike the way they would if they were face to face with someone.
anarchovegan
replied 2222d
Ok. Thank you for sharing your why.

Not all blockchains are equal. I don't use steemit much for a reason. I think it has a terrible format, and I don't know how to cash out.
Metalbrushes_Tattoo
replied 2223d
There are plenty of walk throughs that explain how to cash out of Steemit. I have cashed out many times on it. It’s not complicated at all.

Link me to one you recommend. I've looked at a number of them when I was on there and I wasn't able to figure it out.

Can you hold steem money in a wallet on your phone?
Metalbrushes_Tattoo
replied 2222d
I have only ever held my Steem on the Steemit website so I’m not sure to be honest.
anarchovegan
replied 2222d
So, you can't easily use it on your phone unless you first transfer it to your phone or use a browser and visit blocktrades to do a trade?
Not very mobile.

I’ve only ever used Steemit on my computer. I’ve never tried any of it on my phone. I’m sure you can use it on your phone though.

Give it a try and report back?
I've used steemit with an app now and then on my phone.
I haven't for a while though. Not to cash out, but post.
