The Organization of American States (OAS) has adopted a resolution condemning the violation of diplomatic space by Ecuadorian police who stormed the Mexican embassy in Quito to arrest former Ecuadorian Vice President Jorge Glas, and has offered to mediate between the two nations to overcome the crisis.

Quito has voted against the resolution, urging the organization to condemn Mexico as well for "numerous violations of the norms and principles of international law," Ecuador's spokesman Alejandro Davalos says.
