Did you have both windows opened and focused at the same time? If you are switching back and forth, the browser pauses the animation and people won't spawn.
Cashdrop is using the bitcoin.com websocket, txstreet is using blockchain.com. So I think it's either the window wasn't focused, or the txs are not broadcasting.
