With CDs, the jewel cases would've cracked, then the CDs get scattered and scratched. Cassette tapes, they're great, but no random-access tech. It was great until the arrival of iPods.
MD were/are the best. Unless you wanted to use RockBox & FLAC, MD still outperform iPods.
