as I remember exploitation acc. to Marx when additional value created by workers is alienated to capitalist because workers have no own means of production.
Companies paying the workers, in full or in part, in stocks would make it possible for them to get ownership of the means of production, at least get the portion of the value created.
On a related note part of the reason why the Government has tax incentives for home ownership, the more people have to lose the less likely they are to work to undermine the society.
Correct, it is a way to encourage ownership in the company that the company offers to make workers feel like they have a stake in the success of the company, can also be for tax reason
"make workers feel like they have a stake..."is a key 🤣 in proportion with top management stakes it is a dust. An often it is a way to take loan from your employees = easy money
Giving the option does no harm, there are companies that do not pay workers in stock but gives them the option of buying X stocks at 50% rebates and them being locked for sale X years.
If workers want to start a biz, & they don't have the startup capital, so they try to sell someone partial ownership, that person should say "Sorry, don't want to exploit you."?
