Doubtful. I’m not sure people censor themselves well when they know they are hiding behind screen names. Seems to have the opposite effect actually.
I'm not talking about people censoring themselves. I'm talking about systematic permanency incurring a new degree of awareness and empathy. You can delete a fb post. Not a memo post.
Hmmmm I’m not sure how the permanency creates the awareness or empathy though. If anything I think the mask everyone has to hide behind removes the awareness and empathy.
Memo is “life on the Blockchain” isn’t it? Same with Steemit. Both have permanency. The users all still have “username masks” to hide behind. That removes empathy/awareness.
The internet has been around a lot longer than blockchain. The issue you're talking about relates to the internet in general. We're very familiar with the problem. Blockchain is new.
Of course it will, and does. You don't think that this technology will have any effect on such behavior, nor that it will incentivize different, unforeseen behaviors?
When people are able to be anonymous they are more likely to say things and act in ways that are unlike the way they would if they were face to face with someone.
So, you can't easily use it on your phone unless you first transfer it to your phone or use a browser and visit blocktrades to do a trade? Not very mobile.
