We did not evolve to hang out in space, and everything we see has light coming at it from all directions as light bounces around in every room, if it looked real or reasonable it would be strang
single light source is really noticeable in films which make an effort at realism like interstellar. (I know it goes off the rails a bit. haven't seen gravity).
There are filters and effects in place to make it more palatable to our sensibilities, if Musk wanted to make a fake CGI car it would look a lot better than the real thing ironically.
