I think it's a really good starting place for a lot of people. Most people aren't going to read Rothbard, Mises, Friedman, etc... But Rand is a decent story teller, so it helps humanize the ideas.
I hadn't read it in so long that I had forgotten how much of my own thinking came straight from the pages.
I read Atlas Shrugged over the weekend.
