Clearly our various software implementations need some work. Hopefully we will iron out these kinks as the network reaches such a massive transaction volume naturally. Should be a good lesson for miners and devs.

What I learned from the stress test is the I am limited by my slowest CPU core (probably lmdb back-end). November may be an aggressive time-table to fix that.
My system from early 2015 with crappy dsl internet hasn't missed a beat through the stress test
My node was single-core CPU limited. Bandwidth was below 1MB/minute.
95,861 Tx * 6 blocks/h * 24 h = 13,803,984 Tx /24h
Almost 14 mil transactions/24h are possible!! It's proven.

The block-chain is not really suitable for more than basic metadata and links. You will probably like IPFS integration when it becomes available.

Speaking of orphan blocks, do you know of a site that tracks the orphan block rate over time?
Not sure. For block 546012 the one in the memo DB was incorrect which caused subsequent blocks to fail. We don't currently have orphan support.
