Push him on the exercise. That will help him sleep longer and better and in the long run if hes having a good nights rest, hes less likely to use caffeine.
Also Thursdays-saturday help him with a plan to stick to his goals.

He was drinking that plus coffee. Hes also quitting tobacco, alcohol and marijuana at the same time. He has had set back on all 3. If he quits too much at once hes setting himself up for failure. Hes cut back a lot, i say let him have it for a while longer

Honestly, my husband gave me the some when i first signed up, otherwise im sure it would have been difficult.
