Loss of jobs and increased cost of living creates poverty and suffering.
That would be the argument. Jobs and cost of living VS pollution.
RE cost more to produce the same energy. Energy costs go up. Jobs are lost
Pollution is bad. Expensive energy is far worse. The poor will suffer most.
And no need to give up more liberty for any reason.
No need to destroy economically productive jobs if we don't have to.
But the data disproves the theory.
