There's a group of flat-earthers saying stupid and incorrect things which make the sensible flat-earthers look bad? I did not see that coming.

That's not jealousy, that's envy:
Never heard "vacuum" used that way... maybe they mean "vacuous"?

When you said "the word 'everything' always leads to a generalization", that was itself a generalization. It's possible to generalize with the word "always" too.
replied 2135d
"always leads us to a generalization" sounds like quite a generalization to me... surely there's at least 1 way to use the word "everything" that doesn't lead to a generalization?

If you ask stupid questions, you'll get stupid answers.

Legalise everything, let adults buy quality-assured heroin and cocaine over the counter at CVS with clear mg dosage instructions on the box. Whatever the downside, it's better than the war on drugs.

We'll see how it works out for the administration who steal land they can't farm without the expertise they drove away. More starving Africans on the way.

Mirrors are used in light fixtures, projectors, telescopes, medical equipment, telecommunications, and many other applications besides personal vanity.

By that definition "kill the active shooter because he's shooting at children" is hate speech.

If you can think of a way to verify animal consent then great but that seems pretty difficult to me.
Bestiality is ethically no worse than slaughtering an animal for food, in fact it's better - I'd rather get raped than murdered.
Farmers who have land seized will abandon the country, the new owners won't be as good at running the farms and the country will starve.
If you want to see the future of South Africa read "Atlas Shrugged".

I use mirrors several times a day. I think you need to calm down a bit.

"The test of evolution, survival and growing consciousness (thriving on a healthy body and mind)" doesn't sound like an actual empirical test, sounds like hippy jibberish.

IQ is the single most reliable (and powerfully predictive) measurements in psychological science. Your IQ doesn't say everything about you, but it says more than any other test can.
replied 2138d
Sure, IQ is far from being the only thing that matters about a person, but that doesn't mean it's bullshit. Of course it's a "made up test" (all tests are made up by someone).

There's a grim problem in our future: CP and other vile images that are even harder to expunge from the blockchain than they are to unsee once they're burned into your eye sockets.

The inevitable CP could cause legal issues for any central memo.cash website. Need decentralized client that anyone can run at home from scratch BEFORE jpegs easily stored on-chain.

You can't really construct socialism within a free capitalist society, since socialism relies on coercion to get funds from taxpayers. Anyone in the commune could just refuse to pay.

It not so much that people are getting dumber, rather dumber people having more kids. High IQ countries in western europe and asia have lower birthrates than africa and middle east.
