If miners parallelise Merklisation on GPUs and place the extranonce at the end of the block template enabling them to distribute the leftmost Merkle branch at each successive layer for pre-validation, Bitcoin blocks will have no functional scale ceiling.

12 years ago, Satoshi proposed the first non-Bitcoin application of PoW: BitDNS. He came to the same conclusions I have: The internet is broken, and PoW within PoW can fix not just this, but many other things. I don't bet against Satoshi.
