I don't think you can fix the world without fixing yourself. I think that raising a loving, confident family is the most important step in "fixing" the world. But so many people are in bad spots right now. Was it always this "bad"?

The final straw was when I asked a salesman if he liked the product, and if he owned it. He said "it's not about the product, it's about the process".

I always preferred teaching financial literacy to selling, but many dont want to learn

Some days life is slow + full of love.

Other days it feels like a checklist.

Today is a checklist day. Having too many checklist days lately.

So far the only thing I've felt right shilling is love + listening. Will that be enough of a "legacy"? Why is building a "legacy" so instilled in me? My grandpa has a $60 million construction company and died penniless with children that felt abandoned

I was offered $450k last eyar to sell annuities. That *was* a problem. High commission, bad products. Then again, better than holding cash or spending it on junk, so maybe it works for some people? Here we go again.

I'm the best/worst salesman. Informed + charismatic. But I have a compulsion to present every side. Still, if it's the best product, that's not a problem.

My normal response would be "find more mentors" but at this point I guess whatever is next has to come from inside.

90% of my friends who own their own businesses are slaves to their own creations. The other 10% are working on *the right thing* so it's not "work" at all. Still, even many of them have not balanced it with family life.

Always knew I'd have to start my own thing eventually. but I haven't found the right thing yet. But does it have to be the right thing? Or just something that makes money and is more flexible? But my job is actually very flexible now.

in 2017 if BTC hit $50K i was going to take a year off and live in Costa Rica. They would have held my job, and I only had one kid, who wasn't in school yet.

Now I've got a *better* job that many people want. Golden handcuffs?
