My current thinking is that the word “disease” phonetically derives in English from “dises” (plural of DIS) meaning Goddesses (plural).
Either way as goddess or goddesses or as a god or gods the word DIS is a Milky Way reference.
Here “official” etymology claimed related to French & no mention of the pagan goddess or god origins that seem clear to me.
The pagan etymology of the word “disease” ie DIS-ease has been covered up. I think it related to the Norse DIS goddesses but if you think it really of French or Latin origin then is related to DIS pater ie Hades/Pluto the god of death also makes sense.
