You have freedom of choice, but the real cost must be paid. Same with pollution - there is a cost that has to be paid, that will be paid - just not by you. This doesn't go against capitalism
I think there needs to be some incentive for creating quality conent. For instance if you create an interesting discussion, you maybe get a proportion of all tips made in the thread
So ideally, both coke and pepsi would be so expensive nobody would drink them at all. Or smoke. So the choice aspect is largely irrelevant on such a damaging good
They are implementing sugar taxes in many countries because the community as a whole bears the cost of excess consumptions of sugary drinks. Same deal with cigarettes. Social cost trumps choice
likes could probably turned into some sort of karma system. You could then filter like reddit. Probably also need dislikes at some point for it to work.
same way that capitalist societies don't enforce their rules I guess. . e.g. a traffic fine hurts the poor more than the rich. They also rarely go to jail. Corps also flout the law with impunity
I'm really happy with our system, and I think the US would benefit giving it a try. Nobody benefits from being constantly in fear of bankruptcy should you get sick - or being scared to go to hospital
Nope. We live in a somewhat wealthy country that derives a lot of it from resources. They are dug from the ground. If you have private health insurance you don't get much.. just elective is quicker
Hardly a CEO's reward. I wouldn't call the military capitalist, although they benefit from capitalist production. There is room for both. I like my healthcare socialised for instance - it works better
The things he has done post paypal are really admirable. SpaceX would def not exist without him - which is something that could benefit all humanity. I think that gives a lot of people hope
