Still trying to figure out what this is. So far all I know is that's it's a 64 bit hex hash of something.

Awesome. BCH developers should get custom tags on #Memo - also, thank you for all your hard work. I'm running a BU Cash node right now.
replied 2255d
I'm about to go to sleep, but if you still need some done when I wake up I can do some.

sickpig, as in BU sickpig?

...as nobody would want to come to see a bunch of ads and crazy ramblings, with a substantial post here and there.

You pay to make a transaction on the blockchain, not to post to memo - it doesn't give you privilege. If you want a echochamber and ads, then thats what you would get...
replied 2256d
Not what I want to see, but what I don't want to see. I just want a way for users to be able to hide/mute content that they don't like. As Memo grows, so will incentive to spam ads.
replied 2256d
They don't pay Memo.
replied 2256d
Yes. But not memo.
replied 2256d
It's about the content.
replied 2256d
Nobody pays memo, but I want it to be substantial content, not ads and people telling me that Obama fucked my wife and is the antichrist gay lizard jew muslim.
replied 2256d
Even if it's a bunch of "$100 = 100 penis enlargement pills, grow your dong 99 inches in 3 hours!" posts?
replied 2256d
But at the same time you don't want memo to be filled with penis enlargement pill ad posts. Pretty sure that would stifle growth as well.
replied 2256d
The mute function should only work on a per account basis. The post will still show on the blockchain and as a default until an account mutes that person.
replied 2256d
Ok. This will be my last message to you. You are either a troll or Stellar killed your whole family and took your dog. Stellar hasnt done anything for you to act that way. Good Dat.
replied 2256d
And not all crypto wallets require a minimum. And this was just an analogy. You can remove all except 0.5 XLM, which is about $0.11 USD.

You are talking about the reddit post right? Not the coin geek article?
replied 2256d
One is a BCH issue, the other is a Memo issue.
replied 2256d
I was thinking something like tipping a certain amount to mute them. When you tip x amount, Memo will mute/block that user from your account.
replied 2256d
So when you open your bank account with a minimum balance, you are "buying" your bank account? This logic sounds very "trolly".
replied 2256d
Oh i have it installed, but for other users (esp. the new users), the SPAM will quickly drive them away, and add fuel to Core supporters.
replied 2256d
No. Just because you don't understand how Stellar works, does not make it a scam. You need a 0.5 XLM minimum account balance, which i think was your issue.

Memo needs to add a mute/block function QUICKLY. Im starting to see SPAM more and more frequently. This needs to be priority #1. #Memo

I actually like what Stellar (XLM) is doing, and Lumens are used for buying stuff, but they are vastly different from BCH.
