Venezuela is very much Capitalist right now and that's why hyperinflation is happening.
Goods are also more expensive in US with inflation. Some goods (e.g. tech/moore’s law) get cheaper even with inflation.
Hence we're switching from USD to BCH and why Venezuelans are using BCH. And yes, Moore's law is great but Capitalism still make it hard to purchase cheap when 1st priority is food.

In fact, more people are dying from bad food globally that starvation. So obesity might be the bigger issue. Not that either is more important than the other.

How is it less of an issue? You can certainly die from obesity. And what a waste of resources feeding people stuff that will kill them anyway. Doesn't really make sense to me.
